Copthorne 4 - 3 Albury Eagles
A good hard fought match today, which may have gone our way apart from a couple of decisions that went against us. Albury led 2-0 at half time with goals from Dan Kelly and Chris Caley. A muddy sticky pitch made it hard going for both sides. Copthorne scored to make it 2-1 just after half time. Copthorne then equalised to make it 2-2. Copthorne then went into a 4-2 lead. Albury came back to 4-3 as Dan Kelly scored straight from the kick-off, just before the final whistle. But this gutsy performance by the boys showed we do have what it takes to stay in this league.

Albury Eagles 3 - 6 Hurstpierpoint
A disappointed Albury under 13s team bowed out of this years Chairman's cup competition with a defeat by last years cup finalist and league title favourites Hurstpierpoint. After going a goal down, Christopher Brooks levelled the score for the Eagles and later in the match added to his growing tally of goals with another. But the golden moment of the game (that earned Tom Beazley the man of the match trophy) came when he picked the ball up from well outside the area and stuck a sweet shot that sailed high over the Hurstpierpoint keeper and into the top of the net.
Hurstpierpoint’s greater experience in the A league showed in the second half and when their opportunities came they wasted no time in taking them, and on balance deserved to end the game as winners.

Albury Eagles 3 – 5 Copthorne
A really hard fought match this week against a good Copthorne team. Albury trailed 2 – 1 at half time in severe weather conditions. Chris Caley scoring the goal after a shot was beaten out by the goalkeeper. The game was very even up to half time. Copthorne made it 3 -1 early into the second half. Ben Smith then scored to reduce the deficit to 3 – 2. Then as the rain continued to pour down Copthorne scored twice to make 5 – 2. Jake Nurse then scored again to make it 5 – 3. The boys tried really hard but just couldn’t find the goals to draw the match. But we can put it all right next week as we play them at Copthorne in the cup .

Albury Eagles 2 – 3 Roffey Robins Wanderers
As the rain poured down onto both the Albury team and their ever faithful supporters the Eagles were unable to push themselves that little bit more to win or share the points in this league fixture. Having made all the running in the opening 15 minutes, Albury failed to convert their dominance into goals until Tom Cantoni stepped in to give Albury the lead. Roffey then equalised but when Tom Beazley put the Eagles in front for a second time it looked as though the under 13s might have been able to hold on till the end of the match. However as injuries and the elements began to take its toll on weary legs, Roffey gained both the goals they needed to take all three points. For his gallant efforts in very difficult conditions for a defender, George Duff received the man of the match award.
