Here we go, here we go, here we go with another season of Albury Eagles.

Saturday 6th September sees action kicking off again on Albury Heath. Indeed, some of our squads have been in training for a couple of weeks already.

This will be the eighth season for the club, and I think it is true to say that the season just past was our most successful yet.

There were promotions for three of our 11 a side teams in the Horsham and District Youth Football League.

The new U15s and new U13s Eagles sides will now both be playing in the A division of their age groups, whilst the new U12 Eagles team have moved up to the B division.

Meanwhile at U9 last season, our Griffins side won their league by a country mile, winning all but one of their 18 fixtures. Eagles Committee voted them our ‘team of the year’!

The 2007-08 season signed off at Fun Day on the Heath on  22nd June, with three tournaments centred on the Euro 2008 theme, and customary presentation of the season’s awards.

Thankfully this year, the gongs had been delivered on time!

A profit of £800 was also realized on the day.

The awards went as follows:

For those of you who are new to the club, the download ‘Eagles – Club Information’ should give you some vital background detail on how the club functions.

Many thanks.

NOTICES

Personnel Required………..

We have Team Manager vacancies this season at U7 and U6 age groups.

It will be necessary for parents to step forward and volunteer to run these age groups – as indeed with all of our age groups.

Each team within each squad will also require an FA Level 1 coaching qualification – more info from the Club Secretary – or visit www.surreyfa.com

Friendlies coming up:

Our U14s have already started their season, drawing 2-2 against Kirdford this evening, the match played at Alfold.

Dan Cannon netted both Eagles goals.

This Saturday, our U15s play at Old Dorkinians, whilst our U13s have a game at Billingshurst.

Our U14s play again on Wednesday evening at Brockham.

Good luck to all our sides for these games, and indeed for the season ahead.
