Royal United 4 3 Albury Eagles
A fantastic effort today against the team 3rd in Division A. Albury gave a really good account of themselves today. All 3 goals were scored by Dan Kelly, but Dan and Harvey are starting to forge a very good partnership up front. Albury gave Royal Utd a fright leading 2 1 at halftime. Then leading 3 1 Albury gave a way a couple of sloppy goals and allowed the Division A side to come from behind to win 4 3. Man of the Match was Keith Fagg in midfield who gave a really good battling performance.

Albury Eagles 5 1 Royal United
In the first of two league games to be played back to back between Albury Eagles and Royal United, Albury took the first leg by winning this home game five goals to one. Goal -keeper Laurie Owen's outstanding save early on in the first half made sure the Eagles didn't start the game at a disadvantage and continued to play well for the rest of the game. Harvey Marshall opened the scoring for the Eagles and then a penalty by Tom Cantoni a little later, gave Albury the lead going into the break.
Royal United came back in the second half with a well worked goal, but it was Harvey Marshall's second goal of the game which calmed the Eagles defence and took the match beyond Royal's grasp. Philip Smith added another solo goal and winger George Stevens came off the bench to finish off the game with his second goal in two weeks. Captain Harvey Marshall walked off the pitch with the ' man of the match' award and now goes on to lead his team to face the same opposition next week with hopes of the same outcome.
Albury Eagles under 12's have now reached the half way point in their season which has seen them win 6 of their 7 matches, losing 1, score 37 goals and concede just 11 goals... an outstanding effort from all the team and sets us up well for the rest of the season to come.

Billingshurst 3 5 Albury Eagles
I thought this was the best all round team performance for quite some time.
Every player made a good contribution. David made a vital tip around the post at 3-3, Sam, Hugh and Jack were all very solid with good decision making, and George and Tom (who was my player of the week) both made countless good tackles and recovered possession and repeatedly fed the midfield giving our attack the platform to go forward.
Adam's performance on right of midfield was his best for a long time with some excellent passing, Harry C and Matt who set up 2 second half goals were all action particularly in the second half and Joe's equaliser quick after we had given a soft goal away was a screamer from 20 yards.
Up front Robbie was exceptional with pace and power and a constant thorn in their defence and his link play with Oli suggests we now have a dual strike force that will menace any defence.

Priory Panthers 2 0 Albury Eagles
Eagles are still chasing a win on their travels this season but only wasteful finishing meant that they came away from Epsom College without a point. Despite playing up a steep slope a physical Panthers team soon took control of the game and went close twice before taking the lead after 13 minutes. Spurred into life after a sleepy start, Eagles began to fashion chances of their own with a Willam Potts shot going close and Elliott Cozens clipping a post with a fierce drive and then forcing a smart save from the Panthers goalkeeper. With the slope in their favour in the second half it was no surprise the home side doubled their lead. Left completely unmarked the Panthers centre forward finished well from eight yards. Far from letting their heads go down, Eagles rallied and took the game to the home side. Driven forward by some good runs by Elliott Cozens, Eagles played some excellent approach football and William Potts, Pearce McCarron and Dan Foulsham all had chances on goal. /fontfamily>Mark Thrower

Horsham Crusaders 4-7 Albury Eagles
A really fantastic result today considering we only had 10 players. We had Jake Nurse at stand-in goalkeeper and James Ellenger as a make-shift right back. Albury anticipated a hard match as we didnt have 11 players but we showed great spirit and togetherness to make it through to the Quarter-Finals. Albury led 5 2 at half-time with 3 goals from Dan Kelly,1 from Harvey Owen and 1 from Ben Smith. In the second half Horsham reduced the deficit to 5 4, but the Albury forward line of Dan Kelly and Harvey Owen were too hot to handle and both scored a goal each to make the final score 7 4 to Albury. Man of the Match was James Ellenger who filled in well at right back considering he had never played there before. But everyone had a good match today and well done to everyone.

Albury Eagles 4 - 2 East Grinstead
Albury Eagles under 12s reached the quarter finals of the Frank Giess Memorial Cup with an excellent performance against League A leaders East Grinstead Athletic. Having had the majority of play for most of the game, Albury were unable to convert their many chances into goals and when East Grinstead took the lead in the second half it looked as though Albury would go out of this years cup competition. As the final seconds of the game ticked by, Tom Cantoni stole into the Grinstead 18 yard box where he was brought down by an East Grinstead defender, earning a penalty . Tom took the penalty that he had won and slotted the ball into the bottom left hand side of the goal to level to score and take the game into extra time. Albury's strength showed in the first half of extra time and it was a Christopher Brooks goal that took his team into a deserved lead. A further goal was added with what has become a George Stevens trademark goal, where he steals around the back of the defence to stroke the ball into the back of the net. East Grinstead rallied to close the score line to 3-2 but with a second goal from Christopher Brooks, the Eagles ended the game worthy winners. With all of the team playing a fantastic part in this game it was decided that no-one should be man of the match and that the whole team were ' men of the match '. Neil Marshall

Albury Eagles 0 - 4 Holmbury Red
Another defeat for Eagles but a much-improved performance against top-of-the-table Holmbury Red. Eagles made a bright start and competed on level terms for the first 15 minutes, playing some neat and composed football but without ever having a cutting edge. The nearest they came was a long-range effort from Elliott Cozens that narrowly missed the upright. But five minutes before half time Holmbury got their noses in front following a slick move down the right. Lifted by their lead, the visitors doubled their advantage three minutes after the interval with a skilful move that split the Albury defence. Despite battling hard and playing some neat football, Albury were unable to unlock a stubborn Holmbury defence. Defensive blunders led to two late Holmbury goals as the visitors rammed home their dominance. Mark Thrower
