Less cold weather conditions over the past fortnight have enabled most games to be played, and our sides are now back on track to fulfill their fixtures within the allotted season span.
Infact on Saturday 6th, we saw three consecutive Horsham League games staged on the Heath.
The club continues to grow, especially in the younger age groups.
The U8s are now embarking on a third side, whilst the U7s are pretty much at full capacity for now.
Well done to all involved there.
Match day catering is now beginning to be offered, and if any parent is able to help out in this realm, could you please contact the Club Secretary.
The U12s have been playing within a friendly league for this season, but are looking for more players (School year 8) to enable them to rejoin the Horsham league for next season.
Enquiries, in the first instance please, to the Club Secretary.

Woodmansterne 0 7 Albury Eagles
We finally get to the first match of the year! After the snow and the ice, we arrive at Woodmansterne pitch to find a bitterly cold wind blowing across it. The Eagles dominated the beginning of the game, keeping it within the opponents half. The scoring started after about 15mins of the first half, once the players had warmed up! Then the boys found their pace and 6 shots found the back of the net from Sam Moldon (1), Archie Wells (2) Sam and Archie with pure determination to score - , Jay Lawson (2) one brilliant goal direct from a corner and Daniel Cansell (1) - tactical play from Jasper Whitefield to Brent Savage to Daniel to score - with only a few minutes between them. Woodmansterne Hyde retaliated with a few attempts but William Stannett in goal did a brilliant job preventing them from even scoring once.
The second half of the game found Woodmansterne team changed around and putting up a fight. This made it more difficult to have shots on goal. Also, the Eagles were drifting from their allocated positions, which allowed Woodmansterne to exploit the gaps. However, the Eagles prevailed and used all the skills theyd learnt in the last few weeks. This gave them time to stop and look where the players were and pass to them for a better shot at goal. This tactic was rewarded near the end of the game by a final goal from Sam Moldon, bringing the final score to 0-7. A result to continue our winning streak.
Team (goals): Sam Moldon(2), Jay Lawson(2), Archie Wells(2), Daniel Cansell (1), Jasper Whitefield and Brent Savage.
Goalie: William Stannett.

Albury Griffins 5 4 Redhill St Josephs
There were plenty of goals and action to keep everyone warm at this match. Albury made a great start and raced into a 3-0 lead after 15 mins with James Foulsham scoring twice, with one a tremendous strike into the top corner, and Will Edwards scoring the other. Luke Pecorelli hit the post and the Redhill keeper made a great save from another rasper from James Foulsham. However, Redhill didnt give up and playing some good football, managed to pull two good goals back before half-time. Half-time 3-2.
The second half was very evenly matched and Redhill equalised from the penalty spot after 5 minutes. Albury quickly re-gained the advantage with a good finish from Will Edwards but now the game was end-to-end and a couple of good saves from Ross Gilding prevented Redhill from scoring. Eventually, Redhill equalised again to make it 4-4 only to be finally undone by a Joe Lockhart shot into the roof of the net. Final score 5-4.

Royal United 8 2 Albury Eagles
The fact that this was only the Eagles second game since the 12th December 2009 ( due to postponements ) certainly showed, as Royal United gave the under 14s a lesson in how to compete in a game of football. Although Albury started well with Tom Cantoni narrowly missing the target from close range, the Eagles slowly lost any control over this game. A mixture of poor defending and lack of concentration on the behalf of the Albury team saw Royal cut through the Eagles time and time again to leave Albury coming off the pitch at half - time 5 - 0 down.
The second half saw Albury rally a little when Phil Smith sprinted towards goal to net for the Eagles, but even a second from Phil was not enough to bring the under 14s anywhere close to worrying the Royal team. With the score line ending at 8- 2 this match left the under 14s with a lot to think about and a lot of work to do before their next match.

Brockham Badgers 2 2 Albury Griffins
This really was a game of two halves. The first half belonged to Brockham as they dominated possession and created a lot of problems for the Albury defence. They deservedly took a 2-0 lead and nearly added a third but were denied by a good save from Ross Gilding. In a rare attack Marco Rolandelli squeezed the ball home right on half-time to pull a goal back for Albury. Half-time 2-1.
The second half was dominated by Albury who created a hatful of chances but were denied by some great saves by the Brockham goalkeeper. Marco Rolandelli, James Foulsham, Cameron Potts and Will Edwards all went close. Then, in the last minute of the match, just as it seemed Brockham were going to hang on to all three points, the ball was cleared by the Brockham defence to Liam Langridge-Barker who hit a fantastic shot into the bottom corner of the net from outside the penalty area. An exciting finish to an entertaining match.
Final score 2-2.
