Albury Eagles FC looks forward to the new season which kicks off in early September, and promises to the busiest yet.
We will be fielding six sides at 11-a-side in the Horsham League this season, including two teams in one age group - U11. With the additional four sides playing at U12 to U15, finding space for playing matches and training has become quite a logistical challenge!
The good news is that as well as our Albury Heath home ground, we shall be creating a new pitch at Tillingbourne School in time for the season’s kick off, as well as regular use of pitches at Broadwater School.
With further pitch opportunities available to us at Wonersh CC, Bramley CC and Alfold FC, we are now very well placed for the season ahead.
Meanwhile, for the 7-a-side game in the Tadworth Schools League, contested at U8 through to U10, we shall be playing most of our fixtures on the Heath, with plenty of extra pitch space available at Tillingbourne School for further games and training.
This season, we plan to run three sides at U10, three sides at U9 and two sides at U8.
At the youngest end of the club, we welcome Chris Lee into squad management, who is kindly taking over the running of the new U7 department (incorporating the U6s too until they become self sufficient).
Please keep in touch with your team managers for regular updates on training venues, times, and for details of matches.
Prior to play, each player must fill in an application form. This process has already been completed by club players of U11 and over, via the Horsham League player registration process.
Please download a form from our website www.alburyeagles.com , and complete and send to the club secretary by 5th September. Alternatively, please bring it along to your first training session.
New Players
Players interested in joining the club should contact the club secretary in the first instance, who can then confirm if there are player vacancies.
At this point (early August), there are playing opportunities at U8, U9, U10 and U12.
Parental Support
Meanwhile, with the success of the club relying to the greater part upon the voluntary help we receive from player parents, the following vacancies are open -
Assistant to Treasurer
U6 Manager/Coach
Social and Events Secretary
If you think you can help out, please drop the club secretary a line.
Thank You.
Have a great Summer Holiday and we look forward to seeing you all in September.
