Albury Eagles 5 – 2 Royal United

A much better performance today. Everyone was available apart from James Rush who was away. The boys knew this was a game we really needed to win. There were some fantastic performances right through the team. The boys passed the ball a lot better this week and fought hard right to the end of the game. Albury took the lead in the first half with a Royal Utd defender heading past his own keeper from a corner. Royal equalised after Albury failed to clear a dangerous corner. Into the second half and Albury took the lead again after a shot from Dan Kelly. Royal again equalised after sloppy defending from Albury from another corner. Dan Kelly then bagged two more goals to complete his hat-trick. Then Captain Dan Kingshott completed the scoring making it 5 -2 shooting past the keeper right by the post.

Well done boys! Lets take this onto the next match which is away to Royal Utd next week.

Albury Eagles 2 - 3 Horsham Sparrows

A frustrating game for the Eagles as they suffered another home league defeat at the hands of a well-organised Horsham Sparrows. This season’s common habit of not pressurising the ball and allowing the opposition too much time came back to haunt a side clearly low on confidence after their last few weeks results. Having gone a goal down within 10 minutes,  Philip Smith managed to pull Albury back onto level terms before half time aided by some solid defending by Alex Dangerfield  ( Man of the Match ).

The second half continued much the same as the first with Eagles not pressing hard enough on a Horsham side that again took the lead. Albury finally created some good chances and Laurie Owen found the back of the net with a well taken goal to level the game once again. Then against the run of play, Horsham extended their lead once more when a poor clearance was pounced on to restore Horsham's lead which they held till the end of the game.

Brockham Badgers ‘B’ 0 - 6  Albury Eagles

Tom Hartley was the Eagles hero with four goals as Albury cruised to a comfortable win that lifts them to third in the league.
Despite a heavy and deeply rutted pitch that made flowing football  almost impossible, Eagles soon took control of the game, taking the lead after just four minutes. Tom Hartley won possession just inside
the opposition half and set off on a mazy run firing home from an acute angle.

From then on it was all one-way traffic with Brockham threatening only rarely. Tom O’Neill extended Eagles lead with his first goal of the season and Hartley struck again to put Albury out of sight before half time.
A scrappy second half followed the same pattern with Eagles dominating but finding it hard to get through a packed Brockham defence that seemed intent on damage limitation. However, Hartley completed his hat trick with a well-taken finish from a sharp angle.
Elliott Cozens added to his already impressive season’s tally with
the fifth while Hartley rounded off the scoring after Brockham failed to clear their lines.
